Well over a century ago — in 1863 — the Easthampton Rubber Thread Company was founded in Easthampton, Massachusetts by Samuel Williston. That company, the predecessor of today’s JPS Elastomerics, produced square-cut rubber thread for the apparel and textile industries.
Today, 140 years later, JPS Elastomerics has emerged as a market leader in each of the segments in which it competes: commercial roofing, environmental liners and floating covers, and in the production of extruded polyurethane film, sheet and tubing. Throughout its history, however, the company’s core competency has remained the same - compounding, calendering and extruding advanced materials for many highly diverse market segments.
